The Seminar:
“Evolution may be a fact but it is in need of continuous interpretation.” – Simon Conway Morris
This half-day seminar will investigate in more detail how we reconcile evolution with faith, what the different philosophies or interpretations of evolution are, and whether newer understandings of evolution have significance for the dialogue between faith and science.
A panel of speakers will discuss these four questions:
- What are the unspoken assumptions in neo-Darwinism?
- Is there any theological doctrine which is threatened by evolutionary theory?
- What does faith/theology have to contribute if anything to an evolutionary understanding?
- Is Christianity ever dangerous as Dawkins has claimed?
